日前,广达公司经理Michael Wang宣布将2007年笔记本预计出货量由原先的2500万台提高到2600万台。业界认为此举得益于苹果公司的大额叮当。Quanta posted shipment of 2.2 million notebook PCs in April, and projects higher figures for May due mainly to Apple`s orders. The firm is very likely to attain its shipment goal of 7 million notebook PCs for the second quarter of this year, up 10% from a quarter earlier, according to Wang. Besides, Quanta projects to score aggregate shipment of 13 million in the first half of this year. This makes the company optimistically forecast its shipment to reach 26 million notebook PCs for the entire year, up from 25 million units projected initially.Wang added that in case of its notebook PC shipment reaching 26 million units this year, Quanta will command a global market share of nearly 30%, based on the annual global shipment of 95 million units. In fact, the world`s top two ODM suppliers of notebook PCs, namely Quanta and Compal, are both expected to see their shipment grow significantly this year. Compal is confident of attaining its shipment goal of 20 million notebook PCs this year. The company has projected its shipment to drop 5% to 1.62 million notebook PCs in May, from 1.7 million units posted in April. However, the corresponding figure is expected to go up in June, and boost Compal`s aggregate shipment to 5.1 million notebook PCs for the second quarter of this year, according to company sources.
