The award was presented to the company during a Tuesday, November 12, 2013 ceremony that took place at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre in Munich, Germany during Productronica.

Brian DAmico, President of MIRTEC Corp stated: LEDs are used in a variety of different applications ranging from LCD flat panel displays, automotive lighting and even household and street lighting. Automated Optical Inspection is required at two different stages within the LED packaging process. In the first stage the bond wire, chip die and stitch balls are inspected for defects prior to encapsulation. In the second stage, post encapsulation, the epoxy is inspected for foreign materials, bubbles and sufficient volume.

MIRTECs MV-9XP Inspection Machine was developed to specifically address the inspection requirements of the LED manufacturing Industry. This specialized system uses Super High Resolution 2D inspection to verify proper assembly of LED packages prior to encapsulation.
