Computrol, Inc., a world-class provider of mid- to low-volume, high-mix electronic manufacturing services to OEMs, has selected ACE Production Technologies as its supplier of choice for its selective solder needs. The company has purchased its fifth KISS-103 Selective Solder System.

Now installed at Computrols Meridian, Idaho facility, this marks Computrols fifth KISS-103 system, with three at this facility and two at the Orem, Utah plant. Additionally, Computrol has upgraded the two existing KISS 103 systems at the Meridian facility and added a 3 wave capability to one of the machines.

The KISS-103 is a fully configured automated selective soldering machine that can solder boards up to 18 x 24 (457mm x 610mm). It is equipped with Super Quick Z-axis motion, resulting in a 20 percent increase in production speed. The KISS-103 comes standard with the SWAK-OS operating system software and the ACE automated fiducial location and correction system. It provides single click fiducial teach capability, seamless fiducial recognition and true automatic alignment of a printed circuit board. The KISS-103 also is equipped with the ACE drop-jet spray head capable of precision flux application with virtually no overspray for true no-clean processing.
