Landrex Technologies, Inc. introduced two new second-generation Optima 7300-series AOI systems at the APEX trade show. The Optima II 7301 Express offers the same performance as the original Optima 7300 post-reflow system but at a much lower cost. The Optima II 7310 Extreme provides the proven performance of the Optima 7300 but at much higher speeds. Together, these second-generation Optima systems advance the state of the AOI industry by delivering accurate, repeatable results and extremely low false calls in machines that meet the economic and throughput requirements of any electronics manufacturer. ldquo; With the introduction of the low-cost Optima II 7301 Express and the Optima II 7310 Extreme, Landrex is very well positioned to increase our market share, said Jim Gibson, CEO, Landrex Technologies. ldquo; We now have a cost-effective product for small- to medium-size manufacturers and high-speed AOI for demanding, high-throughput markets like automotive and high-volume Contract Manufacturers. Our strategy is to provide high-performance systems at competitive prices and always be on the leading edge of AOI technology. The Optima II 7310 Extreme features scanning rates up to 70% faster than the original 7300. Landrex accomplishes this speed improvement with new high-speed cameras, high-speed computer, and high-speed auto-width adjustable staging conveyors. The Optima II 7301 Express is available at about 40% price reduction from the list price of a 7300. Landrex achieved this cost reduction by lowering manufacturing costs and updating some system components, while retaining the same hardware and software architecture of the original Optima 7300. Both new systems are equipped with new E.0 software, which includes new features such as improvements in the graphical user interface and optional barcode reading through the camera and offline programming. Offline programming supports multiple systems from one workstation. E.0 software also supports optional Review Pro repair-station software, which speeds defect diagnosis and repair. Pricing Availability The Optima II 7310 Extreme system will begin shipping at the end of Q1 with prices starting at $97,000. The Optima II 7301 Express system shipments will begin in February with prices starting at $80,000. Both systems are available 30 days ARO (after receipt of order).
