This new conference will provide attendees with a thorough look at product verification through testing and inspection ― at each level of the manufacturing process. Workshop presenter and IPC director of technology transfer, Dieter Bergman, explains, Well examine the methods and practices currently used to validate the performance capability of electronic equipment. And, we will set the stage to explore alternatives, consider cost implications and incorporate all associated technologies for test and inspection.On December 10, Jack Fisher, Interconnect Technology Analysis, Inc., and Paul Benke and Michaela Brody of Zero Defects will join Bergman as instructors for a workshop on test and inspection processes, detailing how to assess proper test protocol strategies within the test and inspection process. Customers expectations for a meaningful test strategy as well as assembly test and inspection methodologies will be covered on December 10. In addition, a case study will be reviewed and a panel discussion will ensue, offering attendees greater insight and understanding. On December 12, the agenda turns to the future. Fisher will provide an overview of IPCs 2006-2007 International Technology Roadmap for Electronic Interconnections, and several equipment suppliers will share how they are preparing to meet the test challenges of the future. As a complement to the workshop, suppliers will display new equipment and highlight upgrades available for existing equipment.
