EMS provider USR Electronics Systems Ltd. has made its operation significantly more flexible by setting up the first SIPLACE SX production line in Israel. The innovative SIPLACE placement heads, the highly efficient setup concepts and the capacity-on-demand concept of the SIPLACE SX provide USR Electronics Systems with maximum flexibility and scalability with regard to module layouts and lot sizes. By making this move, the Israeli electronics manufacturer is once again banking on placement solutions from ASM Assembly Systems (formerly Siemens Electronic Assembly Systems) to produce complex electronic modules for customers in the medical technology, telecommunication or IT fields. USR Electronics Systems?ˉ new line consists of three SIPLACE SX2 machines. The first machine is equipped with the SIPLACE CP20 SpeedStar high-speed head. Thanks to its innovative SIPLACE MultiStar CPP head, the second machine can operate in Collect Place or Pick Place mode, which enables it to process an exceptionally broad component spectrum. Capacity on demand thanks to switchable gantries Both machines still have enough room for adding a second gantry in accordance with SIPLACE?ˉs Capacity-on-Demand concept. When demand requires it, the user can quickly add capacity without having to reconfigure the line by purchasing or renting additional gantries and heads or by borrowing them from another line. In less than 30 minutes, the performance of the SIPLACE SX line can thus be significantly increased C and reduced again when the production requirements return to normal. The third SIPLACE SX2 is configured as an end-of-line machine with one SIPLACE MultiStar CPP and one SIPLACE TwinHead. In its current configuration, the new line is designed for being able to handle a broad product spectrum. The operators at USR Electronics Systems also benefit from several additional features of SIPLACE?ˉs placement technology. For example, the intelligent, hot-swappable SIPLACE X feeders and the SIPLACE Setup Center reduce setup times and prevent setup errors. Additional special advantages of the new SIPLACE SX machines, say the managers of USR Electronics Systems, include the significantly faster speed of new product introductions and prototype manufacturing, the almost complete elimination of manual placement procedures and the high first-pass yield rates. ?Our partnership with USR has developed over many years, and the company has grown significantly in the meantime,? says Markus Baumann of the SIPLACE team in Munich, and Eyal Dickermann, the local SIPLACE representative in Israel, agrees: ?With the current concept, USR Electronics Systems is banking once again on the latest concepts and technologies in order to be even better prepared for fluctuating markets and constantly changing customer requirements. The way USR has grown in this dynamic market is truly impressive.?
