International materials manufacturer, Electrolube, part of the H K Wentworth Group, is helping to raise essential funds for the spinal injury charity REGAIN. The charity is the only organisation in the UK dedicated solely to improving the independence of British men and women who have suffered spinal cord damage as a result of a sports or leisure injury. Clico Kingsbury, the wife of Gerald Kingsbury, Chairman of H K Wentworth Ltd, will represent Electrolube in the European cycling challenge starting on the 12th September. Cyclists of all abilities will take part in a demanding 300 mile cycle challenge over 4 days, riding through London, Amsterdam and Brussels to raise funds for specialist equipment such as wheelchairs, transport, housing, access and computers to help tetraplegic men and women become independent again.

Ron Jakeman, Group Managing Director of H K Wentworth, comments, Electrolube is always keen to support worthwhile charitable causes. Over the last four years Electrolube has raised over 30,000 for the UKrsquo;s leading childrens charity Barnardos and planted trees within The National Forest to help transform the landscape and reduce carbon dioxide in Britains atmosphere. We are very proud that Clico will once again support a beneficial charity and Electrolube fully supports Clico in her four day, 300 mile challenge. Speaking about the challenge ahead, Clico Kingsbury said, I am truly inspired by the meaningful work REGAIN achieves and the impact this has on the lives of the people it serves, so I am eagerly anticipating the cycle challenge. I will be riding in honour of Roger Belson, a friend who died at Christmas, who spent the last 20 years of his life in a wheel chair as a result of a car accident. He was a great man and in his case the tragedy seems only to have heightened his love of life and commitment to helping others. I met Roger 10 years ago and like everyone else who was lucky enough to know him, instantly fell under his spell. He was a director of REGAIN and supported it with a passion, constantly raising funds for it during his lifetime. There is no alternative funding available for REGAIN and support is welcomed. Even a tiny amount will make all the difference.
