CH2M HILL VP-Director of Lean Consulting Dennis Stamm will make a presentation on Lean Manufacturing in China at the annual meeting of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE). CH2M HILL (www.ch2mhill.com) is a global full service consulting, design, construction, and operations firm.
The presentation is scheduled for Sunday, November 11 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in San Francisco, California from 15.45-16.25 GMT.
ISPE is a society of 22,000 professionals in 90 countries involved in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals and related products.
The presentation will review priority considerations and solutions for designing, operating and qualifying manufacturing facilities in China used to manufacture products for sale to the US and Europe. This is considered a topic particularly critical to the pharmaceutical industry, whose products must meet stringent quality standards in order to be exportable to global markets.
Mr. Stamms presentation on lean manufacturing in China will be based on findings from CH2M HILLs design and construction of numerous pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and other projects in China over many years.
His presentation is part of an ISPE education session titled Manufacturing Facility Design for Global Organizations that will include co-presenters Andreas Bahne, Project Director of Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma Co., Ltd. in China; Robert Chew, President/CEO, Commissioning Agents, Inc., USA; Simon Chalk, Director of BioPhorum, UK; and Bikash Chatterjee, President CTO of Pharmatech Associates, USA.
The presentation will analyze approaches for designing and constructing pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturing facilities that satisfy regional regulatory requirements while complying with rigorous regulations imposed by the U.S. Food Drug Administration, European Union and World Health Organization. A related focus topic will be helping participants anticipate the unique operating considerations, design solutions and process utility design requirements needed to effectively operate such advanced technology facilities in China.
