January 7, 2011 ASM Pacific Technology officially concluded its acquisition of Siemens AGs SMT placement machine activities. The global SIPLACE team now operates as a business unit under the name ASM Assembly Systems and is integrated into the ASMPT group. In order to further increase its activities in Brazil and strengthen the customer relationship and support, the global SIPLACE team has signed an exclusive cooperation agreement with equipment distributor ALTRADE, Brazil, that has taken effect on January 1 2011. ALTRADE is by far the most well know SMT equipment distributor in Brazil, established in 1990, the company has over 60 employees located in all the major electronics manufacturing hubs in the country. As a result of the negotiations, SIPLACEs sales and service team for Brazil, will join ALTRADE in order to provide Brazil electronics manufacturers with even more direct and comprehensive service and support.
